Why the no.13 is so mysterious?

Why everyone afraid from 13 number like Friday the 13, Hotel no.13 Building no. 13, Room no.13 ?

But 13 number is considered inauspicious in most of the countries. for eg. Many airlines also skip the seats of the company number 13. And Number 12 is considered auspicious. Because There are 12 months in the calendar. Days are also dIvided by 12-12 hours. 12 is also considered as perfectly divisible number.

Why people afraid from no.13? And why is it considered a sign of bad luck?

Coincidentely there are many killers in which Have 13 no.letters in their names such as: CHARLES MANSON, JACK THE RIPPER, JEFFREY DAHMER But it doesn't matter.

Many hotels doesn't have room no.13,Millions of people in the world,including prolific horror writer Stephen King,have an irrational fear of the number 13. The phenomenon is so widely reported, it even has its own hard to pronounce name: Triskaidekaphobia.
